With the closing of the Ardmore Air Force Base after World War II, Ewing Huston knew he would have to find another job. He was Supervisor of the Sheet Metal Department at The Base and had previously been the Sheet Metal Instructor at the NYA, National Youth Administration. With this experience he decided to go into the sheet metal business far himself. He and his wife, Nellie, opened their business in the late 1940’s in their garage.
In 1952 the business incorporated as Arbuckle Supply Company with Ewing Huston's family being the owners. The focus was on sheet metal fabrication, duct work for heating/air conditioning systems and guttering. Ewing served as President from 1952 until 1976.
In 1961, Carroll Hendershott, Huston's son-in-law, joined the business and added the manufacturing of storm doors, windows and ornamental iron. This part of the business is known as the Home Improvement Department and specialized in replacement windows, patio covers and awnings.
In 1976, Carroll and his wife, Patty purchased the business. Randy, their son, joined the firm in 1984. It has been a family-operated Company through three generations and grew to occupy three buildings at the corner of 4th and I Street NW. Carroll served as President from 1976 until 1997.
When Carroll semi-retired in 1997, Randy was elected President and General Manager of the two departments. The Sheet Metal Department was sold in 2005 and Randy concentrates on Home Improvement sales and services - in the original location at 807 4th NW.
Arbuckle Supply has faithfully served Ardmore and Southern Oklahoma for three generations since 1945. They appreciate the friends they have made along the way - and wish to say "Thank You" to their many customers and friends. They also thank their employees past and present for their help in making this company successful.
