Putting a hair salon in a 1930’s era Spanish-style mansion turned out to be an excellent choice according to Tatiana Young, a stylist at Essence Salon when it opened about 12 years ago in the historic Pasadena Music Conservatory building. With her was fellow stylist Erika Colon; in 2007, the two bought the salon and have continued its tradition of client-focused care and pampering. "This place used to be a home, and it still has a home-like feel," Young says. "That dynamic, the cultural diversity of our stylists, and our commitment to service is what i believe sets us apart.”
