After working 15 years for global IBM business partners, Sean Hudson returned home five years ago and took over ownership of his family's business. Hudson's Tire Center. "Hudson's Tire Center was started in 1984, 27 years ago, by my father, Richard Hudson, This business was started out of the back of a 1972 Chevrolet pickup, with borrowed tools. The pickup was given to my father by my late granddad, Carl MeCluskey”, Hudson said.

While Hudson originally chose another career, Hudson's Tire Center was in his blood and when his "on the road or in the air" job lost its appeal, he and his family came home to a business he had watched grow under his fathers guidance. What had started in the back of a pickup moved to the tire center s first off-road location at 21 Akron Street and then to 610 N. Commerce. Today, the firm can be found at 1024 S. Commerce, but another move is in the making.

Hudson's Tire Center is the direct dealer for: Bridgestone, Firestone, Dayton, Michelin, BF Goodrich, Fuzion and Primewell tires. The firm is also licensed to sell Goodyear, General, Continental, Maxxis, Hankook and Nitto. In addition, Hudson is the direct dealer of Interstate Batteries.

The only tire service center in Ardmore with four service trucks operating 24/7, 365 days per year, the trucks service everything from autos, RVs, and light trucks to big trucks and farm tractors. Utilizing the latest in equipment, Hudson's is also the only tire service center in the area with a machine that enables technicians to mount wheels sized up to 28 inches. But, the service options don't stop with tires and batteries. Other services include but are not limited to. alignments, balancing brakes, shocks/struts, belts/ hoses, minor mechanical services and oil changes, with an oil brand selection that includes a house brand touted as being ''the least expensive in Ardmore.''

Today, Hudson's employs 12 people. Sean said his management team, consisting of his mother, Conchieta, father. Richard, and Brad Mize, is “the best" in the industry
