New and pre-owned Ford cars, SUV’s and trucks, parts, tire and service at Marcotte Ford

Marcotte Ford’s longevity and success as one of the premier dealerships in Westernn Massachusetts has as much to do with being a third-generation, family owned business as it does the top-quality cars it sells, said Michael J. Filomeno, general manager.

At Marcotte Ford, the unique thing is there’s always a familiar face here. The Marcotte family has dedicated themselves to quality customer service, he said. When you come here for sales, service and rentals more than likely you’re going to know the person since you have probably dealth with them with last week, last month, last year, anytime. The recognize you by name by face.

Marcotte Ford was started in the early 1960s by Al Marcotte, who had come from Manchester, NH, to open a franchise in Holyoke. As time went on he grew the dealership from one with about 15 employees to one with about 30. His son, Bryan Marcotte, took over as president in the 1980s and further helped the business grow to 100 employees today. Other family members involved in the business include Bryan’s son: Mike Marcotte, vice president and sales manager; his sisters, Linda Gleason, rental manager; and Jeanne Filomeno, human resources manager. Michael and Jeanne Filomeno’s son, James, works in the commercial sales department selling cars and trucks.

In March this year, Marcotte Ford was honored by the Ford motor company with one of its most prestigious honors, the President’s Award, which is given annually to top-performing dealerships in the categories of reaching or exceeding sales goals and scoring high in customer satisfaction for service. Marcotte Ford has received the award for 11 of the last 15 years.

Obviously we’re proud of the award. Our employees are the people who take care of the customers, the people that day in and day out are working and helping them. The reason we have been successful is because of our employees, Filomeno said. No other dealer in Western Mass. Has achieved that and we are very proud of it.

Making good on its tagline, Get the Deals, the Loaner Wheels and Service to Midnight, the dealership sells new and pre-owned Ford cars, SUV’s and trucks at its Holyoke location and stocks over 120 daily rental and loaner vehicles, and operates a service and parts department from 6 am to midnight. Five years ago, it opened a Quick Lane Tire and Auto Center that has eight bays and services any make and model open six days a week.

For a long time, Marcotte Ford has shown the same dedication to its customers as it has to more than 50 organizations and charities in the Western Massachusetts area. Local schools, youth groups, homeless shelters, hospitals and many other organizations and agencies have benefited from the dealerships generous donations of money and employee time. For example, employees for years have volunteered to serve meals to homeless once a month at Kate’s Kitchen in Holyoke and providing meals four times a year, including a summer barbecue, for the people that Kate’s kitchen serves.

Marcotte Ford feels really strong about giving back to the community, especially in Holyoke because these are our roots, Filomeno said.
